But the accommodation didn't really fit to me : I only bad very few interactions with my host : no dinner together, almost no time to talk with them. It was one of the point I was really expecting to improve my English and to become more fluid. That's the reason way I asked for a retired people familly.

The teachers was very helpful and with good way to teach English. Each teacher has a different pedagogy and this makes the training interesting. We worked on vocabulary, grammar as well as oral expression, which makes the training complete.

The teacher was patient and a good listener.
The school is well situated
I just subscribed one week at school HI and I arrived to Dublin on Sunday 24th of October. Even if the Monday was a day off in Ireland I could improve my English in only four days.
About location, Dublin is a fun and welcoming city but it’s expensive. I booked an apartment in center around Grafton street and near the Temple Bar quarter. Every morning I had to walk only 25 minutes to go to HI.
The teaching is effective with exchanges between 4 or 6 students and the teacher about many topics related environment, social media, culture and newspapers reports. We also learn grammar in a funny Irish craic.
As far as I’m concerned it’s a good School and I will go back to Dublin next year to do 3 weeks of learning at least.
About activities I only was staying one week but I met new friends among students, teachers and Irish people.
I didn't experience housing because I rented an apartment in Dublin.
Classes were well organized, there were all necessary facilities for studying. All teachers did what they could do during group lessons.
I didn't like long pauses between lessons
The school was easy join and in a good position for the city center. My teachers were very friendly and funny. I liked the activities promoted: interactive, powerful and funny. I think it was a good opportunity to meet new people and improve my language skills.

I would appreciate in the future if I could take part only in the course of Business English, e.g. 20 or more lessons a week. Five lessons in the week were not sufficient for me, even if they were taught by an excellent teacher named Eugene Cooky..

Enough durarion of classes, good mixed of diferents people from.
my trip in ireland was great. I really liked the classes and the teachers! they are listening and encourage us to improve.
the school is located 5 minutes from the center of dublin, there are many restaurants, supermarkets and shops. The acitivtes are very interesting and diverse. we never get bored.
For my apartment, it was very functional.
Of all my experiences when it comes to learning English this has undoubtedly been the best. They have managed to enjoy learning English through some very educational classes.
The teachers have been true professionals and I will always appreciate their ways of teaching English.
As for the location of the school, in my opinion it is an easy place to get to and relatively central, near a train station, which allows for accessibility.
Inside the school the reception staff is very friendly and is always willing to answer any questions. Although it was probably a point in favor to dominate some other language, in addition to English, since they do not stop being people who are going to deal with students of English and sometimes communication is complicated.
With respect to the family home where I was living, it was not a "family home". To begin with I did not know that I would have to live with other English students, I thought it was just an Irish family and that I would welcome only one student. Anyway, the description of the family does not correspond to the one that was given to me, since I was saying for example that I was going to live with the couple and their two children, and when I got home the situation was different: they did not live together children in the house, and the woman was only 4 days of the two weeks I was.
At the time of the dinners, the students dined at different times than the owners of the house, not to mention the type of food. While we dined alone at around 5pm, with fried food, they ate a much healthier meal at 7pm.
The reason why I chose to go to a family and not to a residence was two very good past experiences (in an exchange to France). This time he has not had anything to do with it. I learned more English at the train station than in the family. Another thing that I did not like about this experience was having to spend 5-6 euros a day on traveling to school, since I did not know the distance there was and it was not included in the price.
I had to learn English with the rest of the students in the house, and the reason why I chose a family was that I wanted to learn native English, not of other nationalities.
Now, with regard to the comforts of the house, and I say house and not "home" because of home that had nothing. We had a single bathroom for 4 students, and that we were not in the maximum capacity of the house, 6 people for a single bathroom. The bathroom left a lot to be desired, to start the toilet tank worked when he wanted, and the shower was with water heater, that when we showered three, the fourth student was showered with cold water.I did not know I had to bring a towel for my stay in Dublin, and they were kind enough to offer me one (the third day) and there were spots ... when I have guests in my house, I do not give them dirty towels, especially if they are paying to live in a house...
Regarding my room, it was very small, I had nowhere to hang my clothes only drawers. The light (artificial) was very small and when the natural light came in through the window I always woke up because the curtains did not fulfill their function of removing the light. The bed had a VERY old mattress, it nailed me ALL the springs, sleeping was horrible.
Also several nights I woke up the music coming from the room.
At breakfast there was just enough food. The cheapest cookies of the supermecado (I know because I enter several supermarkets and I checked), simple cereals, I suppose they were also the most bataros and toast with jam, although sometimes there was no bread. The worst thing of all is that I paid for dinners and breakfasts and in the end they did not meet my expectations. I know that what I paid for the meal plan does not correspond to what they gave me.
I could probably continue to make a bad criticism of this "family". I am clear that if I go back to learning English in a program like this I will NEVER go back, and for the treatment that they have given me, the next thing I know is going to a residence next time.
The reason why I did not complain about the family at the time I arrived was the hope that things would change and my good relationship with the other students. Also a little fear of going to a worse place.
Very good classes, dynamic, participatory and with many records, although I expected a more specific course of business.
The regular accommodation, since I requested the day of my arrival to have light in the bathroom and I did not have it all week. The place enough and good for me although a bit far from the school.
The activities in the afternoon and Saturday seemed very good.
Congratulate the teachers, administrators, staff in charge of the bar and responsible for extracurricular activities for their kindness.
Congratulate you too for all your attentions.
A greeting.
Maria
it was all excellent, I never had a problem.
Teachers were very understanding and had a nice sense of humor which made the overall experience fun.
some of the activities were not all acceptable, and some were boring.
Housing was excellent, really enjoyed my stay there.
Overall it was a good English learning experience.
The International House Dublin (IhD) offer a variety of possibilities to study English. For example: Exam preparation Courses, Teachers Training and Junior Courses. After lunch, IhD also offers free general courses.
The Social Program of IhD organize free trips were you can visit all the city. It has a free magazine where you can share your experience with other students. Every week, there are meetings and all are invited to collaborate. In addition, the muesums are free, not so the bar.
IhD gives you many options to choose and the teachers are well prepared with proper books. Although, if you don't do your homework, you already know your results.
Overall, I don't forget the staff that work hardly to help us with any problem. Many people worldwide prefer to study in IhD and they are waiting for you.
Regards,
Fernando
Well,
I really think that classes need organization your Brazilian students of other form, the Brazilian group closed is bad;
the teachers in general are very good, one excellent, one more fragile, and all others very good;
location, facilities, activities, ok,
but housing was excelent, amazing,
the family of homestay is wonderful, gentile, friendly, very, very good, lovely.
International House in Dublin provides lessons from excellent teachers with innovative teaching/learning methodologies.
The new school-building has some construction defects although the classrooms are functional and adequate.
My host family accommodation was far, outside the city center, catering and accommodation was sufficient.
The school is located right in the centre of Dublin, nearby the meeting point "The Spire". Classes are small groups of people (9-10). Personally I had a very good teacher( John) well prepared and reliable. In that period the school is really packed and the staff wasn't well organized.

Voir les détails » Lire plus...My house was a little out from the city centre, but it was a problem just for going to the American College. The teaching was fantastic and also the social program was very involving. Sometimes grammar classes were boring, but after them my teachers played some role games in order to relax a little. The only problem was doing homework.

Hi Luis,
Many thanks for your review and your Feedback!
We take the feedback of students very seriously and always take on board new ideas and suggestions.
We also stress that students are always able to approach Teachers and staff to make any concerns about classes and levels known.
Apart from the weekly feedback sessions we run, we can be approached at any time to make your time with us more challenging, productive or better in any way we can.
We hope to see you again in the future!
My class was very good end my teachers were excellent!
The location, in the center, was very good.
I think that it is possible to have better facilities, such as books that permit one to study alone at home.
My apartment was comfortable.
I was in a host family (Liz Macabe) and she was very nice with other students.
I studied at IH for 4 weeks and I think my English has improved!
The lessons were very fun because during the grammar lessons we also played some games to improve vocabulary.
Also I liked the night life at all the pubs in Temple Bar or at Dicey's where the beer costs only 2,5€!
Teachers were really nice and helpful in International House. Unfortunately, I was put in the wrong level at the beginning (intermediate). I asked to be moved and they proposed me to go to the upper-intermediate level. I was quite disappointed because it was not possible for me to move to the pre-advanced level. In my and my teacher's point of view, I should have been moved because I didn't (and I still don't) have the feeling that my English has made a lot of progress thanks to the lessons; I needed some grammar points which were approached in the pre-advanced level. That is the reason why I am a bit disappointed with my lessons.
I just stayed for two weeks and it was expensive for the amount of what I learnt. However, the school was friendly, and the activities were interesting and varied, so it was a good experience for me.
I liked the classes, but the first week I was in a low level. I was able to change to a higher level, but I lost a week. The teachers were very nice. The housing was very far from the centre. If I go again, I´ll choose something in the centre of the city. You can save money and your time.
Thanks.
Dublin is the ideal city to learn / improve English. I liked the proposed activities and the level of education.
Still want to progress. I would like to repeat the experience.
I made new friends. The age range of the groups is varied, which I find interesting. I appreciated the requirement of teachers.
I discovered Ireland, which is a wonderful country. Loved the people, their way of living and culture.
Now I returned to my country, Portugal, and I intend to find a way to speak english so do not forget what I learned.
As I've already said it was great! Teaching staff, social program, housing - everything was at the highest levels! Thanks a lot to all who organize such programs!
Voir les détails » Lire plus...My experience was super positive. I've never enjoyed myself so much in any classes, not school or university. I really loved my teachers and connected with them. Indeed they leave a mark. The location was fine, perfect for a nice morning walk. Also services. Activities were amazing like paint ball or war of bands. The accommodation was comfortable. At the beginning it felt fine then we were too many people in the same house I suppose, not everybody gets along so well. But classes were incredible.
Voir les détails » Lire plus...The classes were so fun. I think the way the teachers teach us is great, I mean, it is not boring and you are doing activities all the time!! The location is good and it's near everything. I loved all of the activities, I think it is a really good way to integrate the students!! I wasn't so happy with my residence because it was so far away and the zone wasn't nice. There were so many drunks guys.
Voir les détails » Lire plus...For me the most interesting thing was to talk to students from other countries. During discussing very ordinary things (like school/university life, hobbies, home, sports, the most exciting events in your life) was the most interesting. I knew many interesting things that you cannot read in magazines and newspapers. The teachers were quality. It was easy to get to school. I advise people who are going to Language International to rent some apartment with other students because the better you know somebody, the more interesting your talks. I can say the same about activities because in a small group your English gets better sooner.
